Personal war stories having a spiritual-faith accent, 2001.

Contains a response to the Saints At War Questionnaire, outlining Shallbetter's military living conditions, support received from his family and the LDS Church, as well as his physical and spiritual health during the war. Also contains a short collection of memories, poetry, and his personal feelings on war. Contains accounts of combat from the European theater in forested areas and small villages, with several close brushes with death. He expresses his gratitude for his association with other LDS servicemen, his service as the LDS group leader in his unit, and the sustaining strength that his religion gave him throughout the conflict. Photograph shows Shallbetter with his brother, both in full military dress.
